Every year we allow a group of selective scholars the opportunity to be successful as we work closely with them during their transition from high school to college. The elected scholars have met the criteria of the program and will receive an entire year of support by way of holistic resources and strategies. These scholars will benefit by becoming successful along their academic journey at Livingstone College.
There are 30 competitive slots available to potential scholars each academic year.
Scholars invited to participate in the Bridge and Beyond Program will start their college experience during the summer, two weeks prior to the opening of Livingstone College for the Fall semester.
The program is split into 3 phases over the course of the entire academic year.
We encourage those individuals with a high school GPA of a 2.0-2.5 to apply if the additional support is needed to be successful in their transition from high school to college.
The program targets individuals graduating high school with a GPA between a 1.7-1.99.
The Bridge and Beyond Program is geared towards students with a maximum age limit of 20.
All candidates must complete all requirements and submit the entire admissions packet by the deadlines upon being accepted into the program.
Scholars who have been invited to participate in the Bridge and Beyond Program will learn or improve important transferrable skills including but not limited to: Study Skills, Test Taking Skills, Time Management, Stress Management, Critical Thinking, Reasoning, Problem Solving, Computer Literacy, Financial Literacy, Goal Setting, Resume Writing and Interviewing Skills.
