What is a first-generation college student?

A first-generation college student is a student whose parent or legal guardian have not completed a bachelor’s (4yr) degree.

Does it cost to join TRIO SSS?

No, all services are free to program participants.

When & how can I apply?

Applications are accepted year-round. Incoming freshmen are welcome to apply once accepted to Livingstone college. Email triosss@livingstone.edu, or visit the 3rd floor of the Success Center to apply.

Are upperclassmen, transfer, or nontraditional students able to apply?

Absolutely! All classifications are encouraged to apply.

What services does the SSS program offer?

SSS offer academic, personal, and career coaching, assistance with financial aid, leadership development opportunities, graduate and professional schools planning/tours, help with scholarship searches, access to private study areas and computer lab, online tutoring services, and weekly enrichment workshops, such as study skills, time management, budgeting, and even professional branding.

I submitted my application, now what?

Students who meet program eligibility will be contacted for an interview.  Students who are chosen will receive an email notification. To check on your application status, email triosss@livingstone.edu.
