We encourage you to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our priority deadline is May 1st.
Your Financial Aid must be accessed via the Portal. You can accept, decline, or reduce any part of the offer through the portal. If you need additional assistance you can send an email to your assigned Financial Aid Advisor.
If your award included a Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, and you have made the decision to accept. The next step is to complete the Master Promissory Note and Loan Entrance Counseling (if a first time borrower at LC. Both processes can be completed on www.studentaid.gov.
If your award includes a PLUS Loan (parent loan); your parent will need to apply for the loan using our online process. Please note that the PLUS Loan is based upon the borrower’s credit history.
The amount shown on the offer of Financial Aid on the Portal indicates only the amount of eligibility. It is no guarantee of funds. The parent borrower will undergo a credit check and final approval rests with the lender.
Institutional Scholarships include merit-based scholarships and gap funding. Institutional scholarships and discounts require a completed FAFSA, full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic progress.

IRS DATA RETRIEVAL TOOL
When you complete your 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be sure to use the new IRS data retrieval tool. The IRS Data Retrieval Tool allows you to use your completed tax return to automatically complete portions of the FAFSA. It’s easy, it reduces errors and makes the entire application process easier.
MAXIMUM LIFETIME PELL ELIGIBILITY
As of July 1, 2012, all Pell grant recipients are subject to a lifetime maximum of 12 semesters or its equivalent. The new regulation is based on 12 semesters or 6 years. For example, a student who attends full-time for a full year would have received 2 semesters or 1 year of his overall Pell eligibility. The calculation of the duration of a student’s eligibility will include all years and terms the student received the Federal Pell Grant.
