Mission
The Department of Business prepares students for successful careers in private business, and industry, as well as in the public and not for profit sectors. As the problems of the business world have grown increasingly complex, multi-dimensional, and multicultural, the programs are structured to prepare students as business leaders with specialized education to understand and cope with contemporary business issues.

The Livingstone College Division of Business offers the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in the following areas:


The main goals and objectives of the Business Administration program are as follows: To provide students with a broad perspective of the modern business organizations and their operations through sound management principles To offer a program of study designed to equip students with analytical tools based upon logic and critical thinking for decision-making To prepare students for responsible professional positions in various sectors of the economy To prepare students for graduate studies in businessn Business students are encouraged to become active members of at least one student organization such as Livingstone College Enactus Team, Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), International Economics Honor Society, and Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
The Computer Information Systems (CIS) program combines the study of system analysis and design, computer architecture and operating systems, networks, telecommunications, global communications, computer programs and their application in business decision making. Students completing the program are prepared to pursue careers, graduate and professional studies, and life-long learning as needed for a changing social and technological world. The main goals and objectives of the Computer Information Systems program are as follows: To provide students with a greater range of skills and understanding in all areas of Computer Information Systems development To prepare students for graduate studies in Computer Information Systems and Business Administration To prepare students for responsible positions in applied Computer Information Systems as well as in Computer Engineering.
The Livingstone College Hospitality Management Programu2019s mission is to develop global leaders for the hospitality industry through academic excellence in a rigorous learning environment, industry work experience, and community service activities. The main goals and objectives of the Hospitality Management Program are as follows: To provide students with a broad perspective of the hospitality organizations and their operations through sound management principles To offer a program of study designed to equip students with analytical tools based upon logic and critical thinking for decision-making To prepare students for responsible professional positions in various sectors of the Hospitality Industry All Hospitality Management students are encouraged to join National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH) - A ten dollar annual fee is required for membership.
The main goals and objectives of the Sports Management Program are: To develop leadership and management skills To understand and interpret the business setting To obtain practical experience in the field of sport management To obtain knowledge of functional and structural aspects of the human body To understand and appreciate the physical education and sport setting Sport Management students are encouraged to join Sport Management Club (SMC). Membership fees may apply.
The Division also offers the Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Culinary Arts and certificate programs in Culinary Arts, Event Planning, and Lodging Operations.

Minor programs are designed for non-business majors with an interest in Business Administration, or Computer Information Systems.

- Student organizations on the campus.
